Ferguson praises Giggs, Scholes, Ferdinand on eve of Man Utd milestones

Sir Alex Ferguson has heaped praise on Manchester United veterans Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand.

Wigan Athletic.

Manager Ferguson is aware of the potential milestones and spoke highly of the trio, especially 38-year old Giggs and 37-year old Scholes, who could continue going for a little while yet.

"Ryan could probably play for another couple of years," said the United boss.

"Paul is a different physical specimen and has had his injuries.

"It is a landmark for three key players.

"It is a great example to younger players of what could be achieved if you sacrifice in the game of football.

"These players have had to do that, otherwise they would never have got to this stage."
