Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson felt his side dug deep for the 1-0 win at Everton and that it was important after the derby defeat to Manchester City last week to bounce back quickly. "It was an important result coming away from home to Everton which is never an easy game," he told BBC Sport.
"Great support here and considering they played two hours during the week and its credit to Everton for their performance.
"But first half we played some fantastic football and scored a great goal. The second half as the game wore on it was a good sign to see our player's determined not to lose the game.
They were unlucky when they (Everton) hit the bar, but it was a good result and they worked hard for it and just about deserved it."
