Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is keen to see Wayne Rooney playing again on Monday against Fulham.
"Wayne has been training with the first team and has a few extra days to prepare, so I think he will be ready," said Ferguson.
"His endurance work is fine and his fitness levels are good. He has not even been out for a month so I wouldn't imagine it will take him a long time to get his rhythm."
One man who will be particularly pleased to see Rooney back is Carlos Tevez.
Some astute judges suggested the duo were too similar to operate in the same strike force together but statistics suggest such an observation is total nonsense.
In eight games together, the pair have scored 12 times, with Rooney just edging the personal duel by seven goals to five.
"His combination with Carlos has been really good," said Ferguson.
"You do miss these players. There is no question about that. You cope but you still miss them. Wayne was on a good run of form before he got injured and hopefully he can continue it."
