Former Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson is being linked with the vacant job at Reading.
Following the departure of Brendan Rodgers from Madejski Stadium due to financial issues, the Royals are seeking a replacement and Ferguson's name is at the top of their list.
Ferguson left the Posh by mutual consent on November 9 and has been linked to a number of roles since including one with Hull City but it now seems he could end up with Reading - a rival of Peterborough in the Championship.
Other names being linked with the Royals job are old boss Steve Coppell and former Middlesbrough mentor Gareth Southgate.
