Sir Alex Ferguson is hurt by claims he left David Moyes a mess to clean up at Manchester United.
The Mail on Sunday says senior club sources briefed that Moyes had inherited a mess by Ferguson in terms of an ageing squad and lack of behind-the-scenes organisation to find the best new recruits.
That wounded the 72-year-old former manager, a regular attendee at United matches in his role as non-executive director. There have been no public expressions of support from Ferguson for Moyes, though he will understand the right of any manager to be in control.
