Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was happy to see Wayne Rooney on the scoresheet in victory over Norwich City.
Rooney struck in the 4-0 win.
"It was good to get Wayne the full game," said Ferguson.
"He scored a goal, which is always important for a striker. It will help his confidence."
And with a break now for both Champions League and FA Cup combat, Ferguson's side could hardly be better placed, even if he would prefer not to talk about it in such terms.
"The best way for us to handle it is to win our games," he said. "If we win our next game, then the next, we don't need to look back.
"There is a great atmosphere in the dressing room. That is helping us.
"No matter what comes up, they are relishing it."
