Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson hailed their away fans for victory at Blackburn Rovers.

Ferguson's side patiently toiled for a breakthrough at Ewood Park, the choral onslaught bellowed by the packed Darwen End helped haul United to three huge points.

"They were fantastic," marvelled Sir Alex Ferguson, speaking to Sky Sports. "They are unbelievable. They deserved the result tonight because they never stopped. They urged us on the whole way; they almost sucked the ball in.

"It's like the Stretford End at times, in the last 15 minutes of matches, and that's what it was like tonight."
