Ferguson eyes up management berth after Blackpool stint

Blackpool's veteran midfielder Barry Ferguson has a long term ambition to move into management once his playing career is over. The 33 year old has started all seven npower Championship games for the Seasiders - scoring once - since his arrival from Birmingham over the summer.

"I'm already certain what I want to do after I've finished playing," Ferguson told the Blackpool Gazette.

"I've made that decision already and I want to move into management. For now, I want to play as long as I can, I feel as fit as I've ever been.

"But once I've stopped playing, it (management) is something I'll definitely go into because football has been my life since I was eight years old. I wouldn't know what else to do with myself."
