Sir Alex Ferguson expects his Manchester United to bounce back from last season's disappointing second-place finish in the Premier League.
The Red Devils were sensationally beaten to the title by crosstown rivals Manchester City who scored twice late against QPR on the final day of the season to win on goal difference.
In the wake of comments made by City boss Roberto Mancini that United are favourites for the title, Ferguson feels the Italian is simply playing down the quality of his own side whilst backing his Old Trafford outfit to fight to regain England's top piece of silverware.
"We're favourites every week according to him, he needs to realise he has a decent team himself," Ferguson told reporters.
"Although we've won it 12 times in the last 25 years, we've also been second seven times - I expect us to respond."
