Ferguson denies lining up another job after Peterborough departure

Ex-Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson has denied ever having lined up another job whilst at the helm of the club.

Ferguson and the Posh parted ways earlier this week and following his departure, director of football Barry Fry intimated that the departing boss had another job waiting in the wings, believed to be with Premier League outfit Hull City.

But Ferguson has doused that speculation, saying it is no way an accurate piece of information via a statement released by the League Managers' Association.

"Unfortunately, Barry Fry has intimated that I already have a new position in place," it read.

"I can categorically confirm that is 100 per cent untrue.

"However, these comments have not impacted upon my feelings towards my time at Peterborough United, the players, the chairman and the support.

"Three years ago Kevin Russell and I arrived at Peterborough United, a League Two club - we left yesterday, having taken them to the Championship and we wish the club all the best for the future."
