Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is delighted with the way they've bounced back from their defeat last month at Chelsea.
The loss at Stamford Bridge was a blow to United's title hopes, but Ferguson, in his match programme notes for the Carling Cup win over Spurs, wrote he is delighted with his players' response.
Ferguson said: "I am sure they will rise to it, just as the team did against Everton after being beaten by Chelsea. It was a decisive response and it pleased me to see some of our midfield players chipping in with some good goals to help us to our 3-0 victory. And another decisive victory against Portsmouth on Saturday, with a hat-trick from Wayne Rooney and a marvellous free-kick from Ryan Giggs, keeps us in good shape in the title race."
