Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is confident his young players won't freeze on the big stage tonight in Barcelona.
He said: "You look at the form of Carrick and Anderson and how they have developed - you wouldn't have any fears.
There have been too many disappointments to go with that triumph for Fergie to even contemplate not reaching Moscow.
He said: "We have had challenges in European football and sometimes we have failed them.
"We have failed in some semi-finals when we should have won - against Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund."
Memories of that May night in 99 when they came from 1-0 behind to beat Bayern Munich with two dramatic late goals are sure to flood back.
He said: "Just winning it in the last three minutes was indescribable - it was an amazing thing that happened.
"You don't expect to win it when you go into injury time 1-0 down but it wasn't an accident because we had done it so many times that season.
"But that was a cup final, this is Barcelona's home game.
"They will be well up for it, it will be a terrific game with a lot of good football. If we get a goal, it gives us a massive advantage."
