Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was expecting questions to be asked over his wholesale changes to his team following a disappointing 0-0 Champions League draw with Rangers. The Scottish tactician, said: "I know they'll criticise me but I still think we had a strong team out.
"Eight or nine of them played against Chelsea in the Charity Shield."
He added: "We should have won but give credit to Rangers for their system - they were very difficult to break down.
"If we'd won everyone would have said we deserved it because of all the possession we had, but I don't know if we created many chances."
Ferguson has now set United a target of 10 points from their last five games following this frustrating opener.
