Sir Alex Ferguson defended Michael Carrick over his performance in Manchester United's Champions League final defeat to Barcelona.
The Daily Mail reports Carlos Tevez and Anderson were most at fault for United's 2-0 defeat in the 2009 Champions League final against Barcelona, according to Ferguson at yesterday's book launch.
Carrick is often blamed for failing to cope with the Barcelona midfield but Ferguson says Anderson was the problem, claiming he made only three passes in the first 45 minutes.
Ferguson sent on Tevez in the second half but accuses the striker of "playing for himself".
