Ferdinand urges Spurs to make decision on Jol

Former Tottenham star Les Ferdinand is urging the board to come out and support manager Martin Jol.

The Dutch coach has seen his position come under threat since club officials flew out to meet Sevilla coach Juande Ramos last month. And chairman Levy has also been linked with a move for Jose Mourinho.

And Ferdinand told the Sunday Mirror: "I am a Spurs fan, in fact I'm a season ticket holder and I think Martin Jol is better than any manager I worked under while I was there, and I had quite a few.

"He must dread going to every press conference at the moment. The first question is always 'Will you be here next week?' This will he, won't he scenario is very damaging to the club.

"He should do the job till the end of the season. The board should make a statement saying this. Or, if that's not what they want, they should sack him."
