Ferdinand Tweets his England disappointment

Rio Ferdinand has tweeted his disappointment at England's failed 2018 World Cup finals bid. The Manchester United defender, who has 80 caps for his country, was desperate for Fifa to award the finals to the home of football.

England last held the tournament in 1966 and the former Leeds and West Ham stopper was confident England's team could persuade delegates to back their bid.

However, Russia beat England in the voting and Ferdinand was left puzzled on what England did wrong and what they could have done differently.

"Wow Russia will host the world cup 2018....soooo gutted," he wrote on his Twitter account.

"What more could we have done? What did we do wrong?"
