Rio Ferdinand has paid tribute to his Manchester United defensive partner Nemanja Vidic ahead of tomorrow night's Champions League final against Chelsea.

Ferdinand said: "He's a great fella. I get on with him really well. We complement each other. He chucks his head at anything.

"He doesn't care if he gets hurt. Although he doesn't want to keep getting broken noses every week otherwise he'll end up looking like Steve Bruce!"

So who is picking up Didier Drogba on the big night?

Ferdinand said: "It doesn't happen like that. Wherever forwards go you deal with them.

"Drogba's a tough, tough player. He's mobile, strong, quick, good with both feet."
