Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has said that he believes that Tottenham star Harry Kane has earned the right to be compared to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Since breaking into the Spurs first team in 2011, Kane has managed to impress and has now firmly established himself as one of the best strikers in the world after winning the Premier League's golden boot award during the past two consecutive seasons.
The 24-year-old boasts an impressive record of 110 goals from 175 appearances for Spurs and is likely to get better during the coming years as he nears the peak of his career.
"He's done it the hard way," said Ferdinand on BT Sport. "He's gone on loan to several clubs, didn't really work out for him, came back, got back to the drawing board.
"And it shows that a work ethic, a determination and a desire to become a top player - if you've got all that - aligned with a bit of talent you got a good chance.
"And this kid, when he gets in and around the box he pulls the trigger. What I love about him is he scores all types of goals."For a defender, that's a nightmare to play against."
