Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is up for their clash at Liverpool tomorrow.
The 34-year-old is ready to ensure United collect a sweet victory this weekend.
"The rivalry is always going to be huge," Ferdinand told MUTV. "You still get a different type of feeling when it's Liverpool - just the history between the clubs and the success Liverpool have had and the success we've had in recent years."
When asked if the tension can get to the players, the centre-back was also able to speak of the experience of being a supporter as he watched the FA Cup defeat to the Merseysiders in 2006 from the away end.
"Not quite as much as it does in the stands," he replied. "In the stands and getting to the ground can be a bit hairy at times but, on the pitch, you can sense the atmosphere leading up to the game and during the game.
"You know what it means to the people of Manchester to beat Liverpool, especially at Anfield."
