Despite all the criticism coming the way of Manchester United so far this season, Rio Ferdinand is still confident of bringing home plenty of silverware.

New United boss David Moyes has been heavily criticised for his lack of action in the summer transfer window with the reigning champions bringing in young Uruguayan defender Guillermo Varela early before adding Marouane Fellaini for £27.5million from Everton late on deadline day.

United won their opening Premier League clash with Swansea City quite easily last month but have failed to score a goal in their last two outings in a 0-0 draw with Chelsea and 1-0 loss to Liverpool.

This has brought about plenty of negativity to a team who stormed to the title last campaign and Ferdinand feels it is certainly unwarranted as he backs the squad in to achieve more success this term.

"We've got a strong enough squad to win everything,” he told the London Evening Standard.

"We won the league at a canter last season and we've not become a bad team overnight. We believe strongly in what we have got. And anyway, you can't judge the league after three games."
