Rio Ferdinand took to Twitter to express his delight in signing a new contract with Manchester United.
The 34-year old centre-back has penned a one-year extension with the Premier League champions and was already looking forward to commencing his 12th campaign at Old Trafford.

Ferdinand's future at United was in doubt late last year when he suggested his body may not be up for another season in the top flight prompting interest from MLS clubs and some in the Middle East, however, he has put pen to paper for incoming manager David Moyes.
