Rio Ferdinand says Manchester United should've done better by Angel di Maria.

After a poor year in England, Di Maria is happier in France with PSG.

Speaking ahead of PSG's Champions League last-16 second-leg clash against Real Madrid tonight, where Di Maria replaced the injured Neymar, Ferdinand heaped praise on the Argentina international.

“What a player to bring in (for Neymar)," Ferdinand said.

“Played on the big stage many a time, produced on the big stage.

“He will be looking to go out there and prove why he should be in this team. He was at Manchester United, didn't get the time.

“That was the winner at the weekend, so he's in good form.

“He knows where the back of the net is and he is a creator."
