Rio Ferdinand is keen to see Gary Neville make a return to Manchester United's first team.

"Gary is the United captain, and the sooner he gets fit and starts playing regularly, the better it will be for us because he's a fantastic footballer," said Ferdinand.

"I'm hoping Gary will be fit for the start of the season, he had a lot of bad luck last year with injuries. We'd like to see him fit and raring to go because he's a top player."
