Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe says forwards coach Les Ferdinand inspired him to his hat-trick against Hull City.
"As I left the dressing room at half-time, Les said 'make sure you come back here with the match ball'," he told the Spurs website.
"I was looking at the clock, time was running out and Les' comments kept going through my mind.
"Then I noticed the board going up saying four minutes to go.
"I had a chance before that and I was gutted not to score but Azza did well for me, held the ball up and as soon as it came back to me I thought to just put my foot through it and strike it. I was delighted to see it go in."
