Fenerbahce are plotting an ambitious summer swoop for Arsenal's Mesut Ozil.

Reports suggest that the Turkish giants are set to move for the Germany international if he decides to leave the Emirates Stadium at season's end.

Born in Gelsenkirchen to Turkish parents, Ozil has reportedly been dating Miss Turkey Amine Gulse and travelled to Istanbul just last month.

The Telegraph is reporting that Ozil is also planning to spend £5million on a mansion in Turkey's most populous city.

Fenerbahce see Ozil as a replacement for star striker Robin van Persie - the former Gunners star - who is expected to leave the Ülker Stadium this summer.

The North London future of the former Real Madrid playmaker has been cast into doubt in recent weeks and it has been suggested that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger could offload the 28-year-old if things do not improve in the final few months of the campaign.
