Turkish outfit Fenerbahce are believed to be preparing a £5million bid in an attempt to lure Aston Villa's John Carew to the club.

The Norwegian striker is somewhat of a journeyman already, having previously played in Norway, Spain, Italy, Turkey and France, and it seems as though there is every chance he could return to Turkey.

The 30-year old has been in and out of Martin O'Neill's starting line-up in recent times and the fact his contract is up in 18 months may cause the boss to think about just where Carew's future at the club lies.

If the offer from Fener is both lucrative and long-term, Carew may jump at the chance to leave Villa as it will surely see him to the end of his career on good money.
