Fenerbahce have publicly denied reports linking them with Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko.

The Frenchman is on the periphery in north London and was not in the squad for Monday's win over Manchester United. Reports in Turkish media indicated Sissoko was on his way to Istanbul. However, the Super Lig giants have denied the claims.

A Fenerbahce statement said: "In the public domain, the news that we are attempting to transfer Moussa Sissoko … does not reflect the truth.

"Regarding a transfer of Moussa Sissoko to our club, there has been no contact with the player, the manager or the club."
