Marouane Fellaini says Everton must spend in this summer's market.
The Belgian midfielder, 24, is their last big-money arrival after chairman Bill Kenwright splashed out £15million to sign him from Standard Liege four years ago.
Fellaini said: "I would like us to be stronger and more competitive.
"I hope the chairman will loosen the purse strings this summer."
