Lazio chief Igli Tare denies tension between Felipe Anderson and coach Simone Inzaghi.
Anderson was dumped for defeat to Napoli on Saturday.
“He did not ask to be sold, those reports are not true," Tare told Mediaset Premium.
“We never even discussed that. The only thing that matters for everyone is that the team is more important than the individual and the rules apply to everyone.
“Felipe Anderson's quality is beyond debate, but he needs to learn and improve in some fundamental issues for working within a team. He already proved that in the past. We spoke to him on Tuesday for two hours and I hope he understood, because we all love him here.
“The Coach also has a strong rapport with him, but what counts is the team objective and we must all work together."
