In another twist, Liverpool could still sign Nabil Fekir this summer from Lyon.
Fekir was very close to joining the Reds, but information uncovered during his medical meant that Liverpool tried to negotiate a lower fee at the last moment.
It did not sit well with Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas, who called off the deal entirely.
Now the Mirror is reporting that if Aulas can come down on the total fee, or restructure its terms, Liverpool will be willing to sign Fekir.
The Reds have some concerns about the player's knee, which is why they were hesitant to complete the originally agreed deal.
