Adam Federici is set to become Reading's first choice goalkeeper after the club released number one Marcus Hahnemann.

The 24-year old has been impressive for the Royals this season and provided a quality fall-back option when Hahnemann was injured during the season.

This looks like the chance for Federici to become a top-class player as Reading targets a new approach after failing to gain Premier League promotion this season.

Federici is under contract at Madejski Stadium until summer 2011.
