Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici has received praise from the Socceroos' Mark Schwarzer .

Australia and Fulham's number one believes Federici has what it takes to succeed him in goals for his country.

"I think Adam's progressing amazingly well," Schwarzer told The World Game.

"You have the likes of Eugene Galekovic and Danny Vukovic who have come on leaps and bounds in Australia but to me there is no real comparison to that and playing the top leagues in Europe.

"In Adam's case he's just one level down from the Premier League, he's been playing regularly at a very good club that looks like it is about to come straight back up after being relegated last season.

"Adam has been doing a great job ion that team after taking advantage of an injury to first-choice keeper Marcus Hahnemann. He has a significant advantage now over the guys back in Australia and has put himself in a great position to go on to the eventual number one keeper."
