Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici has staved off the advances of Premier League club Liverpool by pledging his future to the Royals. The 24-year old Australian shot-stopper has been linked with a move to Anfield since Reds boss Rafael Benitez was impressed by his performances in both FA Cup ties between Liverpool and Reading - the replay eventually being won 2-1 by the Championship outfit.
Federici insists he is keen to remain at the Madejski Stadium after working so hard to grab the number one gloveman spot at Reading.
"I have worked so hard to be number one, why would I want to go up there, sit on the bench and start over? I'm enjoying my time as number one and I want to keep this up and go on from there," Federici said. "It has been quite interesting reading about myself, but I have had no contact from anyone.
"It's good seeing your name in the paper and it is fantastic to be linked with a team like that, but I am a Reading player and am sure I will be for a long time."
