Tottenham midfielder Erik Lamela believes his season is over.
Lamela, 25, has been sidelined with a hip injury since making a substitute appearance against Liverpool on October 25.
He's privately told friends that he will not play again this season, says the The Times.
But Tottenham believe the prognosis is premature and there's an ongoing disagreement about whether surgery is required to resolve the issue.
His contract expires in June 2018 and was eager to sign a £120,000 per-week extension before his injury.
Those talks scheduled for the summer - and Tottenham's reluctance to engage until the summer indicates they're willingness to listen to offers.
