Fed-up Fernandes to fine QPR veteran Ferdinand for Twitter antics

QPR plan to fine Rio Ferdinand for his Twitter antics.

The Sunday Express says Rs boss Harry Redknapp wants to ban his players from using the social media outlet - but chairman Tony Fernandes has put a block on the move.

Ferdinand was this week hit with a £25,000 fine and a three game ban for using the word 'sket' - a slang phrase for a promiscuous girl or woman, on Twitter in an exchange with a fan.

Ferdinand is furious with the FA for the carpeting and believes that he is being scapegoated - but the Rangers board are now considering a club fine as well.

It is understood that Fernandes wants to promote a clean cut family image for his club and as such is considering punishing Ferdinand for his outburst.
