A wonder goal from FC Utrecht winger Tommy Oar rescued a point for Australia in their opening World Cup U20 clash with Ecuador.
Trailing 1-0, Oar, wearing the captain's armband, stepped up with less than five minutes remaining on the clock to hit a wonder free kick from over 35 metres beyond the Ecuador keeper.
The former Brisbane Roar midfielder showed great character and leadership to deliver Australia a crucial point in a group that also includes Joel Campbell's Costa Rica and the highly-touted Spain.
Australia are now well-placed with Spain having thumped Costa Rica in the early game. The Aussies meet the Central Americans later this week.
