FC United win stadium approval

FC United are set to be playing in their new stadium next year.

The Daily Mail says FC United's own 5,000-capacity stadium should be finished in August after a lease was signed with Manchester council following years of plans.

The news marks a momentous day for the club, who were formed in 2005 by Manchester United supporters opposed to American businessman Malcolm Glazer's controversial takeover of the club.

The supporters own the club and vote on how the club is run, and the new stadium news puts an end to a controversial saga.
