Fulham have fallen short with a £4.3 million offer for Belgian international Nacer Chadli.
The Daily Mail says the 21-year-old striker, who plays for Dutch club FC Twente, is the man Craven Cottage boss Martin Jol wants to reinforce his attacking options.
But Twente chairman Joop Munsterman dismissed the offer and said: "It is a half offer and for that price we won't be letting him go."
Jol, who knows Chadli well from his spell in charge of Ajax, has yet to see his team score in two Barclays Premier League games and both Bobby Zamora and Moussa Dembele are struggling for fitness.
