FC Twente striker Ola John has explained rejecting Manchester United and Arsenal as a junior player.

When still playing in Nigeria, John was offered terms by both Premier League giants, but chose to join Twente instead.

At Manchester United or Arsenal in the youth team, I would've ended up in a family without my mother," John explained.

"I did not like the idea of that. So I decided Twente would be my first break."
