FC Twente midfielder Theo Janssen was involved in a car accident following his team's 1-0 win over Vitesse Arnhem on Saturday.

The 28-year old, who reportedly had his license confiscated by Dutch police for drink-driving, suffered a broken nose and facial cuts in the accident in which three passengers in the car were also injured.

NOS-TV reported the incident on Sunday morning after Janssen had helped Twente maintain their lead on top of the Eredivisie table.
