FC Twente defender Boyata attacks parent club Man City

FC Twente defender Dedryck Boyata has hit out at parent club Manchester City.

He is certain to anger the Premier League champions with an outburst that poured scorn on the club's commitment to produce homegrown talent.

Boyata said: "It is impossible to survive as a young player at City.

"The club has 62 players under contract for two teams and you know what's going to happen next don't you? Last season, 28 players went out on loan. I was one of them.

"I was doing so well in 2010 - I even got a place in the starting line-up against Manchester United.

"But life is really difficult for young players now at City. The club wants to win everything so they just go out and buy top-class players. Money is no problem.

"They don't look at their own youth and talent, so it's virtually impossible for a youth player to make it into the first team now."
