FC Twente coach Steve McClaren is being linked with Roy Keane's job at ChampionshipIpswich Town.
The Sunday Mirror says Keane has been given the dreaded vote of confidence by the club's chief executive Simon Clegg after failing to register a win in his opening 11 Championship games.
But his future is in doubt, particularly after yesterday's 2-1 defeat at Barnsley - after which Keano raged at reporters for asking questions about the Tykes' last-minute winner and not a penalty decision given against his side, which Iain Hume missed.
While Clegg has backed Keane, Ipswich's reclusive owner Marcus Evans is not so impressed and former England coach McClaren, now with Holland's FC Twente, has been discussed at boardroom level.
