EXCLUSIVE: FC Luzern management say it's too soon to make a decision over the future of on-loan Liverpool striker Samed Yesil.
Yesil is on a season-long loan deal with Markus Babbel's Luzern and has been encouraged by the appointment of fellow German Jurgen Klopp as new Liverpool manager.
Babbel is delighted with what he's seen from Yesil this season and handed him a start for their 1-1 draw with Vaduz on Saturday.
Luzern communications director Max Fischer told tribalfootball.com that Yesil isn't yet at peak fitness, but is regarded highly by Babbel.
"After his break, Samed needs a few weeks until his physical condition will be at 100 percent. According to Markus Babbel, he then will be able to play an important role as a striker (for us)," Fischer said.
Fischer says Liverpool are keeping close tabs on Yesil's progress.
"Our staff is in regular contact with Liverpool Football club," he confirmed.
On the prospect of Yesil extending his stay into next season, Babbel isn't ruling anything out, but it will depend on the young striker's form over the coming months.
"What's going on next season with Samed depends on his performance," adds Fischer. "Currently. It's still too early for concrete statements."
