FC Dallas have traded midfielder Heath Pearce to Chivas USA for allocation money it has been announced.
The 26-year old joined the Texan club from German outfit Hansa Rostock in 2009 and was impressive in his 34 MLS appearances for Dallas.
But the club have decided to open up more room on their 2011 salary cap and have parted the 33-time capped USA international to do so.
"We appreciate everything Heath did for FC Dallas and wish him the best of luck, but this trade will give us some much needed flexibility with our roster and salary cap for the 2011 season," said FC Dallas technical director Barry Gorman.
