FC Dallas signing Marvin Chavez is awaiting an international clearance before he officially joins the club.
The Honduran midfielder remains in his homeland awaiting a visa, meaning he will be unavailable Dallas' clash with New York Red Bulls at Giants Stadium on Sunday.
"Definitely he won't be playing against New York but we hope he'll be playing against D.C.," FCD head coach Schellas Hyndman said.
Despite the fact he will not play on the weekend, Hyndman was excited about what Chavez would bring to his team.
"It's another player that is pretty athletic, quick and fast," Hyndman added.
"He can score goals. He's been playing at a high level for a good club in Honduras, Marathon, and then also for the national team of Honduras. I think he's just adding more experience and more athleticism to our team."
