FC Dallas to send starlet Zimmerman to Europe or England - Hyndman

FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman has revealed that the club may look to send youngster Walker Zimmerman to trial abroad this offseason.

The 20-year old defender has been hampered by injuries in his debut season but outgoing FCD coach Hyndman said there could be great benefit in finding some training in Europe or England during winter.

"Now we're talking to him. Maybe we'll send him to Europe or England to do some training in the offseason," Hyndman said.

"But is he really a guy we want to get hurt again or he is a guy you just need to shut down and say what we want you to do is come back January 15, whatever day it is and have a preseason with us?"

He added of the number seven SuperDraft selection: "I think we were extremely happy and fortunate to pick up Walker in the draft because we thought he would go one or two.

"Injured, the injury was a little bit more serious than we all thought it would be and that's why he's missed as much as he has, and then you've got to understand he missed the first nine games, but he also missed the whole preseason, so now he's trying to come back."
