FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman has indicated that David Ferreira could be back in about six weeks.
The Colombian playmaker is currently sidelined following foot surgery he had a couple of weeks ago and will now be sent to Los Angeles to receive specialist treatment.
Ferreira, who has not yet played this season after making just six league appearances last term due to a broken leg, will undergo rehabilitation at LA's Athlete's Performance at The Home Depot Center and Hyndman is expecting positive results.
"We felt like a change of environment was very important for David. We didn't want to send him to Brazil, to Colombia or anything like that because we want him to still be a part and focus for this. But if everything goes the way we think it will go, he could be back in six weeks.""Our mentality right now with David is he just got the OK for rehab," Hyndman told ESPN Dallas. "What we're going to do is send him out to L.A. and get intensive rehab out there where some of the better athletes, like [David] Beckham, [Landon] Donovan and some of those guys when they're injured, they get their rehabs.
