FC Dallas midfielder Ferreira keen to go again

After an impressive debut MLS season, FC Dallas midfielder David Ferreira is ready for season number two.

The Colombia international has signed on for a second season after scoring eight times and providing seven assists after starting all 30 league matches in 2009 and is looking to perform even better this term.

"I am really happy to here. I'm excited for the new season to come up," Ferreira said. "I hope that the 2010 season is way better than 2009. I'm ready to keep going and train."

Ferreira said he had a fairly low key off-season but is now ready to get back into it and is looking to help bring as much success to FC Dallas as possible.

"I went home and spent some time with my family. I took a break with the family," he added. "I got a couple of games in with my friends. Most importantly, I ran a little bit. I'm using this time to get back in shape for the first game.

"Now I am comfortable here with the team. I know everyone. I now know how the game works. I want to train hard and keep doing what I've been doing. I want to help the team come out on top at the end.

"The momentum of the team is great (from last season). We don't want to start off the season like we did last time, with the little problems that we had and the little errors. At the end of the season, we started scoring and taking responsibility for ourselves. I think now it's a new season. These past few training sessions have been great. I think if everybody keeps working hard, if we continue doing that, then we will come out in the same way we finished."
