FC Dallas lose keeper Sala to knee injury

FC Dallas have announced they will be without goalkeeper Dario Sala for the next 4-6 weeks after he undergoes surgery to a repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. Sala started and played the full match in the FC Dallas 3-1 loss to Chicago in his teams opening game of the season.

"Dario got hurt a couple of weeks ago while we were in Florida," FCD head coach Schellas Hyndman said. "We did an MRI (after that trip) to see if there were any problems and it was negative. So he just went through it. We went to Brazil and when we came back, he said that it was still hurting him and last week, he missed a couple of days of training because it was hurting him. We did a second MRI and it showed a torn meniscus but it was behind a part of the knee that couldn't be seen until they put a dye in it. So, he's now getting surgery."
