FC Dallas goalkeeper Kevin Hartman has become the first player in MLS history to notch up 400 appearances.
The 38-year old played his 400th league game on Wednesday night as Dallas drew 1-1 with Toronto FC to mark a great personal achievement.
Hartman was the honorary scarfer of the Lamar Hunt statue outside FC Dallas Stadium before Wednesday's game and he was very humbled to be given that opportunity.
"To be at FC Dallas and be playing for a club that is owned by the Hunt family and have that opportunity, it was something that I was humbled by," Hartman said. "It really was something that I wanted to dedicate more time to and bask in for a few more minutes, but unfortunately I had to go warm up.
"[My parents] are out here for ten days which is something that doesn't happen very often and it happened to coincide with my 400th game and Fourth of July, so everything just came together and I'm glad I was able to share it with them."
Hartman began his career with LA Galaxy in 1997, making over 240 appearances, before moving to Kansas City Wizards (now Sporting Kansas City) in 2007. He then joined Dallas in 2010 and has over 60 appearances for the Texan club.
